지난 몇 년간 우리 사회에 불고 있는 조기 영어교육의 열풍은 기존에 우리가 받아온 영어교육의 틀을 완전히 새로운 방향으로 발전, 확장되고 있다. 이에 사교육 현장에서 영어 교육을 담당해오고 있는 교사들의 체계적인 이론적 토대와 다양한 교수 방법은 학생들의 언어 발달과 의사소통 능력 향상에 커다란 기여를 하고 있다. 이를 위한 보다 유능하고 실력 있는 우리 사회가 필요로 하는 영어 교사를 양성키 위해 교사들의 교수능력과 다양한 연구 방법을 배양하여 능력 있는 영어 지도사를 양성하는 것을 본 과정의 교육 목표로 하고 있다.
